What we teach
Six areas of study. Some are taught individually and others in small groups, depending on how students learn them best.
Voice
From age 6Students sing from their very first lesson.
Younger singers use age-appropriate songs to build pitch, listening, rhythm and confidence. As they grow, lessons become more structured and go further into vocal technique, musical understanding and performance.
Piano
From age 6Students build technique, learn to read music and work on pieces at a pace that is right for them.
Guitar
From age 6Individual classical guitar lessons, taught on a nylon-string guitar.
For younger beginners, we fit the guitar to the student rather than to their age.
Vocal Ensemble
From age 11Singers learn to sing together and in harmony with others.
The Vocal Excellence Choir meets on Saturdays throughout the season.
Places are limited and singers usually join by audition.
About the ChoirMusic Theory
From age 9Students learn how music is written and why it works the way it does.
Solfège
From age 9Students learn to read music by singing it, and to write down what they hear.
A clear path for every age
Five age groups, each built around what a student of that age is ready for.
Students have their own lesson each week and also learn alongside a few others their age. As they grow, their own lesson gets longer.
Foundation
Ages 6–8Each week, students have a 30-minute individual lesson in voice, piano or guitar, and a small-group class.
In the group, they begin the foundations of music through simple, practical activities: beat, rhythm and pitch, and their first steps in reading music.
A parent or guardian stays on site throughout.

Our approach to teaching
Every student is taught to their age, stage and goals. Healthy technique, strong musicianship and artistic expression are the foundation of the work, in every subject we teach.
Lessons are adapted to the individual, never rushed and never forced. Younger students build confidence and musical foundations. More experienced students go further into technique, interpretation and performance.
Vocal teaching follows the Vocal Excellence Method, developed by Andreas Aroditis.
The goal is a healthy, confident and authentic voice, and a lifelong love of music.
How tuition works
Tuition is paid as a fixed monthly fee at the beginning of each month.
The monthly fee covers the student's weekly lessons.
Some months include five teaching weeks. Others, particularly around Christmas and Easter, include fewer. The monthly fee stays the same, which keeps payment predictable throughout the year.
Once we have recommended the student's subject, age group and lesson length, we will send the full monthly fee to you in writing.
Nothing is charged until you have accepted a place.
Tell us who the lessons are for
Tell us their age, what they would like to learn and when they are available.
We will recommend the best place to start and send you all the details in writing.
Nothing is booked or charged when you enquire.
